Creatively engaging with unique individuals is what gets us fired up. Personalities, passionate conversations, sonic exploration and shared discoveries are at the core of the creative process. Berlin is our home. To say this community is unique would be an understatement. Berlin has its own musical language and sound palette, informed by heritage, a changing urban landscape, and the unique experiences and interactions with the personalities that inhabit the capital city. Berliners hold fast to memories of what was and have an uncanny instinct for possibilities of what is to be next, all in the here and now.
A collective snapshot of Berlin’s ever-evolving electronic music scene is what we would like to share with you.
We invited artists from Andreas Schneider’s team, including Herr Schneider himself, to bring their personal modular rigs and beloved hardware to the IRRUPT Studio in Berlin. Together, we recorded their favorite patches and spontaneous inspirations to create a collection of royalty free loops and one-shot samples to celebrate Superbooth 18.
This sound collection comes directly from two important forces driving the modular renaissance, Schneidersladen, and Superbooth Berlin. Our first collaborative library is available for free from the IRRUPT website. We have formatted it to be compatible with Eurorack and Hardware Samplers as well as Software instruments.
We would like to thank the following artists who contributed to this first edition of Supersounds, who shared their stories, processes, sound design and inspiration, and you – for joining in our sonic adventure.
